next event: Friday March 6, 2015 with Gulf Gate Project!

FAULTLINE - a Breaks monthly, first Friday's of the month.

The Gulf Gate Project
Toast & Jam Recordings

The Gulf Gate Project is electronic music production duo Scott and Sheldon Gau. Growing up in the Sarasota, FL area, the Gau brothers were influenced early on by the Florida breakbeat scene of the late 90's and early 2000's. In 2008, Scott and Sheldon began releasing tracks under the name The Gulf Gate Project on their own label, Toast & Jam Recordings. In 2010, Toast & Jam had a breakout hit with The Gulf Gate Project – Beezy (Electric Soulside Remix). With support from Crystal Method’s Cummunity Service radio show and BT’s Laptop Symphony radio show, 'Beezy' rocketed to #1 on the Beatport breaks chart for 6 weeks, earning it a top 10 nomination for breaks track of the year in 2011 as well as a Breakspoll nomination.

After several more top 20 breaks hits, The Gulf Gate Project relocated to the San Francisco bay area in June of 2013. Since moving to San Francisco last year, Scott and Sheldon have kicked production into high gear with several more top 20 releases, including their most recent release ‘Spanish Montana.’ ‘Spanish Montana’ went #1 on the Beatport Breaks Top 100 chart and held that position for 4 weeks. Supported by the likes of Crystal Method (Community Service Radio Show), Lady Waks, BreaksMafia, 8Ball,  and other breakbeat notables, ‘Spanish Montana’ has propelled The Gulf Gate project into the breakbeat limelight. The Gulf Gate Project is currently in the studio working on their next release, and supporting the studio work with their two man live show.
